<p>So without Kristin I headed to the shop. Big mistake.. I need to be double checked.</p>
<p><img src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/194/496382021_df1a615931.jpg?v=1179073633" alt="" /></p>
<p>Mistake 1: Above you can see that I cut the dovetails on the front of the drawers. Dovetails go on sides! Duh&#8230;. Now they are decorative box joints. I will pin for extra strength.</p>
<p><img src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/198/496380901_f91fac0f09.jpg?v=0" alt="" /></p>
<p>Mistake 2: I did not chuck the bit tight. It slipped while cutting the dado for the drawer bottom. Here you can see the hole. I enlarged it for repair. (More on that later)</p>
<p><img src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/202/496349500_aa6db2aef8.jpg?v=0" alt="" /></p>
<p>A view of the dry fit drawer.</p>
<p><img src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/193/496380767_381b5e650d.jpg?v=0" alt="" /></p>
<p>The pullout drawers.</p>
<p><strong>Repair Time</strong><br />I did not want to recut the drawer part that was damaged by the loose bit. So I decided to patch it. I thought about covering it with the drawer slide but decided against it.</p>
<p>I ripped 1/4&#8221; material, cut it to fit, and glued it in place.</p>
<p><img src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/212/496349658_3c82a771b9.jpg?v=0" alt="" /><br />A little sanding.. a lot of putty.. good as new?</p>
<p><strong>Z-braces</strong></p>
<p>Back at home&#8230;My door design calls for z-braces. This took some time to mill and fit.</p>
<p><img src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/227/496380687_99afdf3bf9.jpg?v=0" alt="" /></p>
<p>Setting the crossbraces.</p>
<p><img src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/227/496349896_853d0b331a.jpg?v=0" alt="" /><br />Fitting the diagonal takes time and many trial cuts.</p>
<p><img src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/209/496381599_d6b2cf47ce.jpg?v=0" alt="" /><br />Bumping the mitre saw. The good news is that once you get one angle right the other fits. Geometry! Who knew?</p>
<p><img src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/193/496349960_b1106c1e63.jpg?v=0" alt="" /><br />Finished z-brace. (needs detailing).</p>
<p>Must get back to the shop&#8230;</p>
