Just stumbled on your blog and got so homesick! We recently sold our 1908 stucco Foursquare in Joliet, IL for new construction in a good school district for the kid. Keep up the good work and keep posting those gorgeous pictures of your beautiful home. We are counting the years until graduation day so we can become custodians of another old home in need of TLC. Good luck!

I actuall just paid someone to do it. But what they do is...
Scrape off all of the paint and loose plaster.
Patch cracks with drywall tape and joint compound.
Apply several coats of joint compound, sanding in between coats.

Any large chucks were patched with drywall covered in joint compound.

There are some picks on our flickr page in the guest room set.

Hope that helps.

I'm really curious on your method of repairing/refinishing the plaster walls. We are gearing up for that, and I'd love to hear what products/techniques you used!
