Fixin' Up the Bungalow

Den paint and bench repair.

I have been keeping the blogs short because image posting is kind of a pain in my opinion. But I may have figured it out so viva pictures.

Den Stained √

We finished staining and applying shelac this week.

Crazy Grain. (Sing to the tune of Crazy Train).

Then yesterday, a little ceiling painting…

Den Ceiling Done √

Today we put a coat of the wall color on.

Rolling the walls.

It is looking good, but another coat to go plus touch ups.

I also decided to rebuild the stairway after a conversation with Joaquin, who was staining the laundry porch. El dice que la madera esta mas fea. Estoy triste. Perro decidio a cambiar la madera.

So here it is.

Before..

Back of Bench..

After

New bench slats

From the front….

The front of the bench with new slats.

Tomorrow… More painting.

Hi, I am really enjoying reading your blog. You guys are doing a great job. With your woodworking skills and having Juan help out your home will be a showcase in no time! Juan did some work for us a few years ago. He stripped and painted the outside of our house and stripped the trim in our front three rooms. Wish we could have had him do more but we ran out of $. He does great work!

You can see it at my blog, which I apologize is horribly outdated. We are also doing our kitchen right now and I should be posting the progress, but I can’t find my camera. :(
